Jayne Hitchcock Fights a Cyberstalker

The Internet has become a playground for con-men. Author Jayne Hitchcock ran afoul of one of these in the guise of a "Literary Agency" called Woodside. In Internet writer's circles, the name "Woodside" has become synonymous with fraud and spam. The Internet is thick with spam; fraudulent money-making schemes abound. But Woodside took it a step too far - and Jayne Hitchcock became the victim of a Cyber-Stalker.
For a complete, detailed account of a writer stalked across cyberspace, please visit the Abuse of Usenet website:

Read it. Pass it around. Forward it to friends and associates who could benefit from knowing to what lengths some con-men will go to steal a buck.
The sole purpose of this book sale is to benefit Jayne Hitchcock's court battle against the Woodside Literary Agency. Every penny raised here will go directly to that cause. The authors whose books appear here have donated their works and time to this effort, and the author of this site, for one, is supremely grateful to each of them.

The H.E.L.P. Fund Team

The HELP Fund team consists of a small group of individuals dedicated to assisting Jayne Hitchcock in raising the funds necessary to do battle with Woodside. Jayne's attorney, John A. Young, is working on a contingency basis, but like many writers Jayne's resources are limited, and court fees, deposition fees and the like are out of her reach.
The raising of this money is being carefully overseen by Mr. Young to ensure that all is strictly legal and above-board. A detailed accounting is being kept. If you have questions or concerns of a legal nature regarding this fund, you may contact Mr. Young here.
Many people and organizations have already contributed or otherwise given support to this effort. For a partial listing of these, as well as more detail on the H.E.L.P. Fund, please visit the HELP Fund site.

Our Goals

The H.E.L.P. fund has raised about $2000 so far. This is a wonderful achievement, and thanks to all who have contributed. But the cost of depositions is $1000 per day, per defendant, and there are three defendants. Our next immediate goal is to raise an additional $3000 to cover the cost of these depositions.
